Roberto De Zerbi: Brighton appoint Italian as new manager
Football coach Roberto De Zerbi has been appointed as the new manager of Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion.
De Zerbi, 43, has signed a four-year contract with the Seagulls and replaces Graham Potter, who left to take over at Chelsea last week.
The Italian, who has previously managed Shakhtar Donetsk and Sassuolo, becomes Brighton's third permanent manager since they were promoted to the Premier League in 2017.
De Zerbi is a highly-rated coach and is known for his attacking style of play. He led Shakhtar to the Ukrainian Premier League title in 2022 and also guided the club to the Champions League quarter-finals.
Brighton have been impressed by De Zerbi's work and believe he is the right man to take the club forward. The Seagulls finished ninth in the Premier League last season and will be hoping to challenge for a top-half finish under their new manager.
